Este mirador se encuentra en el Bastión des Capucins.
Junto con el flanco del mismo nombre forma la Plataforma de los Capuchinos, que forma parte de las murallas de Ventaval en el campo sur de Cádiz entre el Baluarte de los Mártires y el Flanco de Sant Rafael. .
Forma parte del sistema defensivo del Frente del Ventaval , donde la muralla y muralla no se pudo construir hasta el siglo XVIII por la fuerza del oleaje. Con este recinto fortificado, Cádiz completó su muralla perimetral, utilizada primero durante la Guerra de la Independencia y luego en las posteriores revoluciones del siglo XIX.
