Este edificio fue diseñado en 1918 por el arquitecto Ramón Balbuena y Huertas y ampliado en 1927 por Manuel Cuadrillero Sáez.
El Edificio Laredo lleva el nombre del histórico Laredo Bar , que se instaló en el edificio en 1945.
Es un claro ejemplo de la arquitectura regionalista sevillana. . Este característico edificio, con el ladrillo visto tan popular en el primer tercio del siglo XX, cuenta con otros elementos singulares del estilo arquitectónico, como rejas o cerámicas. En la fachada destacan las grandes contraventanas de madera , las bandas y paneles de artístico alicatado policromado, la delicada factura del hierro forjado de las barandillas y el pináculo superior formado por jarrones de cerámica.
Actualmente pertenece al Municipio y alberga numerosas delegaciones. En estas estructuras tiene su sede el Consorcio Turístico de Sevilla .
