Esta moderna fuente evoca los restos galo-romanos descubiertos durante las excavaciones de las antiguas termas de Niederbronnois en 1993. En este lugar se descubrieron dos medias columnas de piedra arenisca, actualmente expuestas en la Maison de l'Archéologie, que probablemente procedían de la fachada norte de la piscina de agua fría. También son un recuerdo de las medias columnas utilizadas en la reconstrucción del siglo XIX del templo dedicado a Mercurio cerca de Wasenbourg.
