El Terremoto de Irpinia de 1980, fue un movimiento telúrico que tuvo lugar en la región de Irpinia, en el sur de Italia, con una magnitud de 6.9 grados en la escala de Richter y de grado X en la escala de Mercalli, con una profundidad de unos 30 km. El epicentro del sismo ocurrió entre las localidades de Teora, Castelnuovo di Conza y Conza della Campania. El saldo final fue de un total de 2914 muertos, un total de 8848 heridos y dejó a más de 280 000 personas desplazadas. Es conocido como el Terremoto dell'Irpinia .
