Victor Emanuel II (Vittorio Emanuele Maria Alberto Eugenio Ferdinando Tommaso; 14 de marzo de 1820 - 9 de enero de 1878) fue rey de Cerdeña desde 1849, y el 17 de marzo de 1861 fue coronado rey de Italia, el primer rey de la Italia unida. , título que mantuvo hasta su muerte en 1878. Los italianos lo apodaron Padre de la Patria (en italiano: 'Padre della Patria').

Apuntaba a una Italia unida, pero Austria, que desempeñó un papel de liderazgo en el norte de Italia, se opuso. Sin embargo, lo logró con la ayuda de los franceses.
