Le projet de remembrement de Sint-Lievens-Houtem a été réalisé entre 2007 et 2015. Plus de 55 km de routes ont été rendues plus accessibles, construites ou réaménagementées. Les routes qui auparavant étaient en cul-de-sac ont été reliées entre elles. La commune dispose désormais d'environ 110 km de voies lentes. La commune de Sint-Lievens-Houtem a saisi ces nouvelles possibilités à bras-le-corps pour développer de nouveaux itinéraires récréatifs. Cela s'est fait en collaboration avec la Société flamande de l'agriculture, l'administration provinciale de Flandre-Orientale et Bloso.
