L'église de San Giovanni dell'Origlione a été construite au XVIIe siècle comme église du monastère bénédictin voisin, pour lequel une passerelle a été créée au-dessus des bâtiments voisins.
Après des siècles de négligence et les terribles dégâts causés par la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il a été récemment redécouvert, ainsi que les précieux trésors qu'il abrite.
Il s'agit notamment du magnifique tableau du XVIIIe siècle représentant Saint Benoît abattant des idoles, peint par Gaspare Serenario, et d'un morceau des fresques originales attribuées à Pietro Novelli.
