La chiesa di Sint-Walburga a Veurne è nata da una cappella di borgo contea ed è stata inizialmente trasformata in una chiesa romanica, dedicata a Nostra Signora. Probabilmente nel X secolo la chiesa ricevette le reliquie di Santa Walburga, il che portò al cambiamento del nome intorno al 1100 in chiesa di Sint-Walburga. La chiesa aveva un capitolo con trenta canonici. Tra il XIII e il XIV secolo la chiesa fu distrutta da un incendio e ricostruita in stile gotico primitivo. La chiesa fu completata all'inizio del XX secolo con navate laterali e una navata corta, secondo i progetti dell'architetto Van Ascche di Gand. In estate si tengono concerti d'organo.
