La RurUfer-fietsroute è una pista ciclabile di circa 180 chilometri che si snoda lungo il fiume Rur. Inizia vicino alle sorgenti del Rur sulla sommità della collina più alta del Belgio, il Botrange nelle Alte Vele, e arriva fino alla confluenza con la Mosa a Roermond nei Paesi Bassi. Tra questi punti, il percorso si snoda principalmente attraverso territorio tedesco. A Kalterherberg, la strada attraversa il confine belgo-tedesco e passa per Monschau lungo l'Obersee e la Rurtalsperre fino a Heimbach. Da qui prosegue verso nord attraverso Nideggen e Kreuzau, passando per il distretto di Düren e successivamente per il distretto di Heinsberg. Dietro il lago Effelder Waldsee, la pista ciclabile attraversa il confine tedesco-olandese. Si conclude alla confluenza del Rur a Roermond.
Il percorso si svolge pressoché esclusivamente su strade ciclabili e agricole separate. La RurUfer-fietsroute fa parte della rete ciclabile NRW ed è segnalata con i tipici cartelli rosso-bianco. Nei tratti in Belgio e nei Paesi Bassi viene utilizzata la segnaletica basata sui nodi.
