La miniera di carbone di Zolder, originariamente di proprietà della S.A. Charbonnages de Helchteren Zolder e situata nel bacino di carbone del Kempens, è stata l'ultima miniera di carbone belga produttiva. Questa sede mineraria del Kempens ha prodotto carbone dal 1930, principalmente carbone grasso particolarmente adatto per l'uso nell'industria pesante e che veniva principalmente acquistato dalla produzione di acciaio belga a Liegi e nel Borinage.
