La linea ferroviaria 44 collegava Liegi con il Granducato di Lussemburgo. Fu inaugurata il 17 febbraio 1867. A quel tempo il traffico era importante, principalmente alimentato da treni merci per il trasporto di tessuti da Verviers, legno, acqua minerale da Spa Monopole e coke dalla Germania. Tuttavia, con il rallentamento dell'attività economica, nel 1974 la tratta fu definitivamente chiusa. A partire dal 2007 la rotta è stata gradualmente trasformata in (Pre) Ravel e ora accoglie escursionisti e ciclisti. L'ultimo tratto tra Sart e Hockay è stato inaugurato nel 2011 e consente ora passeggiate da Spa al confine tedesco. La vecchia stazione di Sart-lez-Spa, costruita nel 1890, si trova in un ambiente straordinario. È stata splendidamente conservata dal suo ex proprietario, Paul Heymans, un appassionato di treni d'epoca. Non solo l'edificio della stazione è stato restaurato senza note stonate, ma presenta anche la peculiarità di conservare un tratto di binario lungo 70 metri.
