Il Rivierenhof, appena fuori dal centro di Anversa, è uno di quei luoghi meravigliosi dove puoi ancora passeggiare tranquillamente, vivere la cultura, giocare o fare sport nel verde.
Nel 1514 si parla già di una proprietà "Ter Rivieren" vicino al Grote Schijn. Nel XVII e XVIII secolo era di proprietà dei Gesuiti di Anversa. Nel 1773 l'ordine viene sciolto e il banchiere J.B. Cogels fa ristrutturare l'edificio del monastero per trasformarlo in residenza estiva. Non è altro che l'architetto di corte di Luigi XVI a realizzare il progetto.
