Hohenkirchen è un villaggio nel comune di Wangerland nel Land tedesco della Bassa Sassonia. Fa parte del Landkreis Friesland. Il villaggio è la sede del governo comunale.
Hohenkirchen è un villaggio su un tumulo. Il più antico tumulo, secondo i reperti archeologici, era già abitato intorno all'inizio dell'era cristiana. Nel medioevo si è sviluppato come villaggio parrocchiale attorno alla chiesa. Dal 1889 al 1988 il villaggio era collegato a Jever e Carolinensiel tramite una linea ferroviaria, poco utilizzata.
Il villaggio è stato sede di una caserma della Bundeswehr dal 1973 al 2003.
