Il sentiero escursionistico segnalato n. 7 è perfetto per un lungo viaggio. Per motivarsi, è meglio iniziare con una rinfrescante passeggiata nel bacino Kneipp dietro il centro termale di Salzgitter-Bad. Poi, sentieri di campagna e di bosco portano lungo il margine sud-est della foresta fino a Liebenburg. Presso la casa forestale locale ci sono pannelli informativi interessanti sulla fauna e flora.
