Questo tumulo è una sepoltura. La piccola torre al centro è una costruzione successiva. Le montagne del Limousin presentavano un tempo un gran numero di tumuli, raggruppati in campi tumulati sulle cime e sulle creste, visibili sotto forma di tumuli sub-circolari. Gli scavi di questi tumuli, databili dall'VIII secolo d.C. al I secolo d.C., rivelano spesso un'architettura interna protetta da un rivestimento in pietra; un elemento centrale ospita spesso un'urna cineraria e talvolta una sepoltura.
Accessibile attraverso il sentiero escursionistico "Autour du Bois de Crozat" o il Sentier des Poètes.
