La Biblioteca Universitaria di Leida è la biblioteca dell'Università dei Paesi Bassi di Leida. È stata fondata nel 1575 e fa parte del ridotto numero di centri culturali che durante il Nuovo Mondo hanno dato direzione allo sviluppo e alla diffusione della conoscenza. La biblioteca contiene fonti uniche di alta qualità e comprende circa 5.200.000 volumi, 1.000.000 e-book, 70.000 e-giornali, 2.000 riviste cartacee in corso, 60.000 manoscritti orientali e occidentali, 500.000 lettere, 100.000 mappe, 100.000 incisioni, 12.000 disegni e 300.000 fotografie. La biblioteca gestisce le più grandi collezioni al mondo nel campo dell'Indonesia e dei Caraibi. Inoltre, la UB di Leida è l'unica organizzazione del patrimonio nei Paesi Bassi con tre registrazioni di documenti nella lista del patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO / Memoria del Mondo.
