Het werd gebouwd in 1897 en staat in het midden van de Place Haute vlakbij de kerk. Het werd gebouwd dankzij de vrijgevigheid van Pierre Louis Bonafy. Deze rijke koopman, die met lede ogen aanzag hoe de inwoners langs een rotsachtige en moeilijke weg water moesten halen, schonk de nodige fondsen zodat het dorp, dat op een heuvel ligt, op elk moment over zuiver en overvloedig water kon beschikken. Deze fontein, die door de Chatelauds "La Margelle" wordt genoemd, bestaat uit een groot cirkelvormig bassin waar constant water uit wordt gegoten.
