Auto: Nieuwe Weg, 3711 AB Austerlitz, gemeente Zeist, Nederland. Gratis parkeren. Trein vanuit Utrecht en buslijn 82: aanbevolen wordt de wandeling in Maarn te beginnen.

In elk seizoen een sportieve wandeling met, als u zelf vindt dat u het verdiend heeft, een smakelijke beloning in het historische Beauforthuis. De wandeling voert u door de bossen van het Nationaal Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Na 10 km komt u langs het prachtige Aspergeveld. Op de terugweg loopt u over de ruim twee eeuwen oude postweg naar het vertrekpunt in de omgeving van het voormalige Frans-Bataafse legerkamp (1804-1808), dat ten noorden van de huidige N224 bij Austerlitz lag. De ontstaansgeschiedenis van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug wordt bij een van de bezienswaardigheden beschreven.
