Het vertrekpunt van de wandeling is zo gekozen dat Alphen ongeveer halfweg de route ligt. Het is vooral een boswandeling, maar hier en daar -vooral in het deel nà Alphen- zijn er ook prachtige vergezichten in het typisch Kempense landschap.
Bezienswaardigheden zijn o.a. de Sint- Willibrorduskapel (boven een bron), de Sint-Willibrorduskerk, het merkwaardige Pieckhuis, het beeld van de Belhamel t.o. het streekmuseum, de grafheuvel en tenslotte het Fusillade Monument aan het einde van de wandeling.
