L'Arxiu General d'Índies de Sevilla (Espanya) es va fundar l'any 1785 a instàncies del rei Carles III, amb l'objectiu de reunir en un sol lloc la documentació relacionada amb l'administració dels territoris espanyols d'ultramar , que fins aleshores s'havia dispers diversos arxius per centralitzar.
L'arxiu emmagatzema uns 43.000 fitxers, amb uns 80 milions de pàgines i 8.000 mapes i dibuixos. Va ser declarat Patrimoni de la Humanitat per la UNESCO l'any 1987.
Originàriament, aquest senyorial edifici va ser la fira comercial de l'any 1584 del Consolat de Mercaderes per al comerç d'or, plata, espècies i cacau entre Espanya i el 'Nou Món'. La seva arquitectura d'estil renaixentista testimonia el paper destacat de Sevilla com a centre comercial durant el Segle d'Or d'Espanya.
