Des del cim de la Rocca di Termini Alta, aquest castell domina tota la ciutat i bona part de la costa tirrènica.
El castell va ser totalment destruït entre 1860 i principis del segle XX. Actualment, hi ha un dipòsit d'aigua i les instal·lacions associades al seu lloc. La iconografia del segle XVI-XIX mostra el castell aïllat a la cinglera, amb el nucli al damunt, protegit per un extens circuit de muralles baluardades.
