Møllen blev allerede i 1379 nævnt skriftligt. Den tilhørte dengang Binderveld Slot. Møllen, der fungerede som kornmølle, er flere gange blevet ombygget, og den nuværende mølleejendom, udført i mursten, stammer fra 1910. I 1937 fandt der endnu en ombygning sted.
Sluisearbejdet, det metalliske underslæbsrad og mølleværket er stadig til stede. I 1993 blev møllen beskyttet som monument, og omgivelserne som beskyttet landskabsbillede.
