Osterath er en af de otte bydele i den på grund af reformen af kommunale områder i Nordrhein-Westfalen grundlagte by Meerbusch. Den ligger i den vestlige del af byen. I Osterath bor der på et areal på 1202 ha 12.645 indbyggere, hvilket gør det til den næststørste bydel efter Büderich.
Arkæologiske fund tyder på en bosættelse i roman时期, og de første bosættelser kan påvises mellem det 9. og 12. århundrede. Navnet på den nuværende bydel har ændret sig fra Ostradoe og Oistraide over Oysterroede, Oesterraid, Oisterraids, Osterraidt, Osterath, Osteradt.
