Der aktuelle Schlosskomplex wurde 1903 von Baron Fernand de Beeckman und seiner Frau Emilie Wittouck errichtet, dessen Familie es nach der Französischen Revolution in Besitz nahm. Von den mittelalterlichen Gebäuden ist aufgrund eines Brandes um 1900 nichts übrig geblieben.
Nach dem Tod von Baroness Wittouck (1947) wechselte das Anwesen mehrmals den Eigentümer. Schließlich betrieb der Verein Gesundheitszorg dort vierzig Jahre lang ein Zentrum für sozialen Tourismus. Rund um die Jahrtausendwende war es wieder Zeit für Veränderungen. Das Anwesen wurde auf mehrere neue Eigentümer aufgeteilt: Group Oostappen (Campingplatz), Twin Properties (Ferienhäuser und Hotel), vzw Gesundheitszorg (Schloss) und Limburgs Landschap vzw (Naturpflege und Besuchszentrum).
