In der Dorpsstraat in Machelen-aan-de-Leie steht zwischen den Bäumen die verborgene Perle, Schloss Eeckendauw.
Dieser Erbesstandort wurde um 1850 im Auftrag der Notarfamilie Van der Eecken erbaut und befindet sich seit 1950 im Besitz der Familie Dauwe.
Der Name 'Eeckendauw' ist eine Zusammensetzung der Namen beider Familien.
Das Schloss ist im neoklassizistischen Architekturstil errichtet, mit dem prachtvollen Vorderhaus als Blickfang, das ionische Säulen und ein Giebel besitzt.
Wie beim Schloss von Olsene und dem Schloss von Zulte ist der Eiskeller erhalten geblieben. Auch das Remisenhaus ist noch intakt.
Neben Schloss Eeckendauw liegt der französische Militärfriedhof.
