Dies ist die zehnte Etappe der Via Tolonensis, in Frankreich auch als GR653 bezeichnet, einer der vier Hauptwege von Frankreich nach Santiago de Compostela. Die Route verläuft von Arles über Montpellier, Castres und Toulouse zum Col de Somport, wo sie sich mit den spanischen Caminos verbindet.
Die Etappe von Lodève nach Lunas ist fast 27 km lang und mit den bekannten rot-weißen Zeichen markiert. Die Route macht einen erheblichen Umweg über Joncels und ist daher etwas länger. Eine Abkürzung ist möglich, indem man nach 9 km der GR7 folgt und 2,5 km später der GRP Haut Languedoc bis nach Lunas. In diesem Fall beträgt die Etappe 18 km.
