Im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert zogen viele Menschen aus dem In- und Ausland nach Roermond, um in dieser besonderen Kirche Besinnung zu finden, unter anderem mit organisierten Wallfahrten. Noch immer ist die Kapelle während der Wallfahrtsaison, die am ersten Wochenende im Mai beginnt und bis Mitte September dauert, sehr besucht. Was macht diese Wallfahrtskirche eigentlich so besonders? Die Kapelle in 't Zand verdankt ihren Reiz der Marienverehrung, die hunderte Jahre zurückreicht, bis ins Jahr 1418, als ein polnischer Hirte dort eine Marienstatue fand.
Seit Jahrhunderten kommen Menschen von nah und fern zur Roermondser Kapelle in 't Zand, um bei Unserer Lieben Frau zu beten!
