Memorial stone with inscription: "HERE FELL EL-CID WITH A GREAT HORSEMAN". At the bottom of the stone is the image of a horse's head. Googling yields the following: in 1986 a Lommel cinema owner fell off his horse in a drunken state. The horse's name was El-Cid and he died instantly, but the rider survived the fall. The stone is said to be a macabre joke by his rich friends. Info comes from the series "Merlijn over the border" of broadcaster Brabant which has the weather from the Bergeijk local history association.
