Description by the author

The track starts in Esneux by the Ourthe and is followed counterclockwise.

First, the valley of the Ourthe is followed, with a stretch of concrete bike path right alongside the Ourthe. But quickly this bike path is abandoned, and the climb to the village of Sart begins. Pay attention to the beautiful rock formations visible in the upper area around the surroundings of Poulseur!

A short descent follows and then a climb to the village of Mont. The track descends to Comblain-au-Pont and then you follow the bike path along the Ourthe for several kilometers to avoid the busy through road in the valley. After that, the climb to Xhoris follows (Côte de Xhoris). Subsequently, the track travels via nice quiet roads to Ferrières.

After passing through Ferrières, the challenging climb of the Trou de Ferrières, also known as Le Trou, follows. The track stays at height until Izier, before descending to the valley of the river Aisne. The track stays in the valley for only a short time, and the valley of the Aisne is left via the beautiful climb to Croix du Mont: http://www.klimtijd.nl/beklimming/croix-du-mont.

Via Fays you descend and then climb to Harre. After that, a longer descent follows to the valley of the Lienne. You follow this valley for about 10 kilometers downstream, on a very quiet road that is in good condition. Eventually, you briefly enter the valley of the Amblève, but you soon leave it with the climb of the 4 km long Côte de Lorcé: http://www.klimtijd.nl/beklimming/lorce. Via Awan it goes again to the valley of the Amblève where you descend via the Côte de Septroux (be careful in the lower part: steep and possibly rocky!).

You leave the Amblève valley via the climb of the beautiful Côte de Gotale: http://www.klimtijd.nl/beklimming/cote-de-gotale. You then have a climb left to Lincé and a small climb to Fontin, before you reach Esneux again.
