Osterath is a village in the municipality of Meerbusch, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a population of 12,645 .
Until 31 December 1969, Osterath was an independent municipality. On 1 January 1970, this municipality was abolished together with the municipalities of Büderich, Lank-Latum, Strümp, Ilverich, Ossum-Bösinghoven, Langst-Kierst and Nierst by municipal reorganization and merged into the new municipality of Stadt Meerbusch.
