Den Burg is the largest village and the economic and administrative heart of Texel. It is also the main town of the island and is known for its cozy center with shops, restaurants, and terraces.
Den Burg is located in the middle of Texel and offers a variety of facilities, including a library, cinema, swimming pool, and the town hall of Texel. There is a market in the center on Mondays. The village has more than 7,600 residents, which is more than half of the total population of Texel.
The village has a historic center with authentic facades and buildings, and there is a varied range of shops. You can also enjoy the many restaurants and terraces. For those who love a challenge, climbing the highest church tower in Den Burg offers a beautiful view over the village.
