Fue a iniciativa de la Oficina de Turismo de Arlon que se llevaron a cabo investigaciones, de 1967 a 1970, para localizar las fuentes del Semois. Estas investigaciones permitieron sacar a la luz dos estanques bien equipados en arenisca caliza local. Datadas de los siglos XVII y XVIII, estas estructuras formaban parte de curtidurías situadas en las cercanías.
La inauguración de la mejora de las fuentes del Semois por parte de la Ciudad de Arlon tuvo lugar en 1972. Aunque hasta ahora no se ha descubierto ningún vestigio de época romana en este lugar, se ha colocado una copia de un fragmento del monumento romano, que representa a un personaje bebiendo, entre los dos estanques para recordar la importancia del agua, las fuentes y los ríos desde la Antigüedad.
