La mina de carbón de Zolder, originalmente propiedad de la S.A. Charbonnages de Helchteren Zolder y situada en la cuenca del carbón de Campine, fue la última mina de carbón belga productiva. Este asiento minero de Campine ha estado produciendo carbón desde 1930, principalmente carbón de tipo graso que era especialmente adecuado para su uso en la industria pesada y que era principalmente consumido por la producción de acero belga en Lieja y el Borinage.
