El Kleine Seminar, una de las escuelas más antiguas de Bélgica, abrió sus puertas en este lugar en 1806. Durante la guerra, los edificios sirvieron como hospital alemán.
El seminario se reutiliza
No pasó mucho tiempo después del inicio previsto del año escolar antes de que los edificios se utilizaran para alojar a soldados alemanes. Originalmente eran soldados de los Aliados, pero pronto los edificios escolares se convirtieron en un hospital alemán.
La guerra hace imposible la enseñanza
No solo el Kleine Seminar fue confiscado por los ocupantes alemanes. Todos los conventos en Roeselare fueron requisados y sirvieron como hospitales. También otras escuelas de la ciudad fueron requisadas.
