La esclusa Blanc Pain es un dique de seguridad . Se encuentra a cinco kilómetros al este del elevador de barcos y a 2,5 kilómetros del puente del canal . En caso de fuga al oeste de la esclusa, la esclusa se cierra, lo que detiene el suministro de agua y limita los daños. Fue construida entre 2001 y 2003.
La puerta de guardia de Blanc Pain, llamada así por el barrio cercano.
La esclusa tiene 34,4 metros de ancho y 6,4 metros de alto y pesa 160 toneladas.
