El segundo tramo del sendero GR-131 es en realidad una derivación del mismo y también conecta la capital de la isla con la costa oriental. La ruta parte del Puerto de La Estaca, enclave principal de las comunicaciones marítimas de El Hierro, y situado dentro del mismo municipio de Valverde.
