La Koningsdonkstraat est une chaussée pavée traditionnelle, qui donne comme un air de Paris-Roubaix à Gentbrugge. La Koningsdonkstraat vous emmenait au bac (maintenant disparu) qui traversait l’Escaut. On peut encore voir le magnifique bâtiment à la fin de la rue, à présent devenu un restaurant et d’où vous pouvez contempler l’Escaut, là où se trouvait le bac. À l’époque où la traversée se faisait encore, la Koningsdonkstraat était une voie de communication importante entre Heusden et Gentbrugge.
