Dans la Dorpsstraat à Machelen-aan-de-Leie se trouve, cachée entre les arbres, la perle cachée, le château Eeckendauw.
Ce site patrimonial a été construit vers 1850 à la demande de la famille notariale Van der Eecken et est en possession de la famille Dauwe depuis 1950.
Le nom 'Eeckendauw' est une composition des noms des deux familles.
Le château est construit dans le style architectural néoclassique avec en point focal la magnifique façade avec des colonnes ioniques et un fronton.
Tout comme pour le château de Olsene et le château de Zulte, la glacière a été préservée. La remise à carrosse est également intacte.
À côté du château Eeckendauw se trouve le cimetière militaire français.
