Hechthausen, également appelé « la porte du Cuxland », est une commune à l'est du district de Cuxhaven en Basse-Saxe. Elle fait partie de la Samtgemeinde Hemmoor.
Hechthausen est délimité au nord, à l'est et au sud par le cours du fleuve Oste, qui est ici croisé par la ligne de chemin de fer Niederelbebahn Cuxhaven-Stade-Hambourg et par la route nationale 73 qui suit presque le même tracé.
