Valence est une ville d'Espagne, située dans l'est du pays sur la côte méditerranéenne. Fondée en 138 av. J.-C. par le consul romain Decimus Junius Brutus Callaicus sous le nom de Valentia Edetanorum, Valence devient, au Moyen Âge, la capitale du royaume de Valence.
Troisième ville d'Espagne par la population qui est passée à 789 744 habitants en 2021, Valence est aujourd'hui la capitale de la Communauté valencienne et d'une de ses trois provinces, la province de Valence. Sa métropole compte 1 875 691 habitants. Dotée d'un patrimoine architectural remarquable, la ville est notamment connue pour sa Cité des arts et des sciences, à l'architecture futuriste. Le port de Valence est le premier port de marchandises en Espagne et le premier port à conteneurs de la Méditerranée .
