Nel mezzo dei campi tra Kontich e Waarloos si trova il castello di Tanghof. Originariamente, nel XV secolo, su questo sito c'era una fattoria circondata da paludi. Nel XVIII secolo, il castello fu ampliato dal famoso architetto Jan Peter van Baurscheit. Forse lo conosci perché ha progettato il palazzo reale e l'Osterriethhuis in Meir ad Anversa. Quest'uomo adattò il castello allo stile del tempo, il rococò. Fu subito realizzato anche un giardino alla francese e un fossato.
