Il Rubenspad parte dalla chiesa di Sant'Uberto a Elewijt, attraversa la strada Tervuurseseteenweg fino a Sint-Hubertusweg e poi segue il ben segnalato sentiero lungo Waversebaan, il tunnel sotto la E19 e prosegue lungo il bellissimo Steendreef fino a 't Steen, dove Pieter Pauwel Rubens visse dal 1635 con Helene Fourment, sua seconda moglie, e la sua famiglia fino alla sua morte nel 1640. La sua permanenza in campagna avvantaggiò la sua arte come paesaggista. Molti dei suoi famosi dipinti sono infatti paesaggi di Elewijt. Il Rubenspad attraversa un bellissimo paesaggio protetto lungo il meandro dello Zenne e le rovine della torre di pedaggio di Weerdse.
