L'Avinguda del re Jaume III si trova a Palma, sull'isola di Maiorca, ed è il risultato di un piano di espansione e ristrutturazione per Palma, il Pla Alomar, realizzato dall'architetto e urbanista Gabriel Alomar i Esteve, approvato nel 1943. Questo piano comprendeva dodici ristrutturazioni nel centro storico, di cui solo quattro sono state realizzate: le aperture delle avenue Jaume III e della Costituzione, così come le ristrutturazioni di Plaça Major e Plaça de l'Olivar. È il risultato della proposta di creare una vasta strada di collegamento tra la città vecchia e l'espansione verso ovest. Il tracciato è dritto e uniforme, con archi porticati e facciate in stile storicista.
