La Mégisserie è nata nel 2005 su iniziativa della Communauté de Communes, nel sito degli ex mattatoi di Saint-Junien, per sviluppare progetti artistici uniti al desiderio di democratizzazione culturale e di radicamento locale. La Mégisserie è un teatro con un programma multidisciplinare che esplora le arti performative in tutte le loro forme, purché siano uniche, innovative e raccontino nuove storie. Si collega regolarmente con la Ciné-Bourse e ospita mostre. La Mégisserie è presente in tutta la regione con la sua programmazione off-site, sviluppata in collaborazione con le autorità locali, e con progetti partecipativi, laboratori e iniziative culturali in collaborazione con istituti scolastici e associazioni locali. Il programma: online, presso l'ufficio informazioni turistiche Porte Océane, il municipio di Saint-Junien.
