Il sito è attualmente chiuso al pubblico per lavori. Tuttavia, è possibile visitare le rovine e vedere l'interno del castello e la sua cantina a volta attraverso i cancelli.
Immerso nel verde, il castello di Morimont fu menzionato per la prima volta nel 1183 e controllava l'alta valle del fiume Largue. Fu distrutto dalle truppe francesi durante la Guerra dei Trent'anni.
Nel 1826, un gruppo di patrioti del Giura giurò di liberare il proprio paese dal giogo bernese e di formare un nuovo cantone, cosa che avvenne nel 1978.
Visitate i bastioni, le torri di guardia e un'eccezionale cantina a volta, le cui dimensioni la rendono unica in Alsazia. Un sentiero di accesso conduce intorno al castello.
Una topoguida intitolata "A la découverte des Trois châteaux du Jura alsacien" (Alla scoperta dei tre castelli del Giura alsaziano) descrive il castello e suggerisce una passeggiata intorno ad esso.
