La Torretta Pepoli è una piccola fortezza che fu costruita nel 1872 per ordine del conte Agostino Pepoli sulle pendici del Monte Erice, sotto le Torri del Balio.
Venne utilizzato dal Conte per ospitare nella sua abitazione gli amici letterati dell'epoca e come luogo di meditazione e studio per il suo lavoro di ricerca archeologica.
L'originale stile architettonico ricorda modelli moreschi , architetture medievali con vaghi richiami Art Nouveau. Lo stretto legame tra l'elemento naturale (la roccia) e la struttura stessa è evidente e rivela una sensibilità che ricorda l'architettura classica greca.
La torre è aperta al pubblico come museo interattivo dal 2014 ed è stata intitolata Osservatorio della Pace e Faro del Mediterraneo.
