Aalten è un villaggio ed è il comune più grande dell'omonimo comune nella parte orientale della provincia olandese di Gelderland, che si trova al confine con la Germania. Il 1 gennaio 2011, il villaggio di Aalten contava 12.935 abitanti. Aalten si trova nella parte orientale dei Paesi Bassi nella provincia di Gelderland nell'Achterhoek, circa nel mezzo della linea nord-sud Lichtenvoorde - Bocholt (D) e nel mezzo della linea ovest-est Varsseveld - Winterswijk.
