Het Lakerhof is één van de historische hoeven van Kessenich. Eerste vermelding in 1541 als eigendom van de familie van Waes, in 1804 verkocht aan baron Michiels. Gelegen aan de rand van de moerassige vallei van de Itterbeek, staat ze reeds aangeduid op de Ferrariskaart (1771-77) als Cse Laekerhoff in de vorm van een tweeledige hoeve, beide gebouwen nok loodrecht op de straat; in dezelfde vorm staat ze weergegeven in de Atlas van de Buurtwegen (1845).
