De windmolen werd gebouwd in 1215 door Lord Jean de Thimougies.
Het werd verwoest door een orkaan in 1606. Hij werd herbouwd en opnieuw verwoest door een storm in 1771. De molenaar herbouwde hem en de molen bleef in bedrijf tot 1926. In 1943 werd de site opgenomen in de lijst van de Koninklijke Commissie voor Monumenten en Landschappen.
Op donderdag 10 januari 2008 stortte de molen opnieuw in. Hij werd heropgebouwd en ingehuldigd op vrijdag 1 april 2022.
De windmolen klan tegen betaling bezocht worden voor een rondleiding van een half uur.
