El Morro is een in het oog springende (letterlijk) bezienswaardigheid in Arica. De 139 meter hoge rots is te zien vanop zowat elk punt in de stad.
Op 7 juni 1880 speelde de rots - een strategisch zeer interessante site - een belangrijke rol tijdens de slag tussen Chilenen en Peruanen.
Vandaag zijn er twee manieren om de top van de rots te bereiken: via de Sotomayor St. (calle Sotomayor) voor voertuigen of via een pad dat start aan het einde van Colón Street (calle Colón) voor voetgangers.
Op de top bevindt zich een (oorlogs)museum en een grote Chileense vlag.
